19th CPC National Congress spokesman meets the press

Beijing, October 17 (INP): Tuo Zhen, the spokesperson for the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), held a press conference at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Tuesday.
Tuo introduced the agenda of the upcoming 19th CPC National Congress, which will begin on Wednesday in Beijing, and answered questions from domestic and overseas media.
The 19th CPC National Congress will open Wednesday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, and will last seven days till October 24, Tuo said.
Liu Yunshan has been appointed secretary general of the 19th CPC National Congress, according to the spokesperson.
The credentials of 2,280 delegates to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China have been approved, said Tuo.
On agenda of the 19th CPC National Congress:
— To hear and examine a report submitted by the 18th CPC Central Committee
— To examine a work report by the 18th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection
— To deliberate and adopt amendments to the Party’s Constitution
— To elect the Party’s 19th Central Committee and 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection
On amending the Party Constitution
The CPC will amend its Constitution at the upcoming National Congress to represent new governance concepts, thoughts and strategies proposed by the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping at its core, Tuo said.
The amendment will include key theories and strategic thoughts presented by a report to be delivered at the Congress, Tuo told the press conference.
The amendment of the Party Constitution is an important task on the agenda of the Congress, said Tuo, adding that all localities and departments have had an input into amending the Party Constitution.
On electing a new Central Committee
The Congress will elect a new Central Committee and a new Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, said Tuo, as he briefed the media about the agenda of the Congress.
The 19th CPC Central Committee will hold its first plenary session after the National Congress.
Following the plenary session, the newly-elected members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the 19th CPC Central Committee will meet the press, Tuo added.
While replying to a question related BRI, he said that the initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping takes win-win cooperation as the core concept and conforms to the development needs of countries and regions along the Silk Road.
BRI was showing positive results in respective countries as all the projects were being carried out with meaningful consultation, respect and without any political interference, he went on saying.
He also said that investment of Chinese companies was widely appreciated in the member countries of BRI as it has created million of jobs and have paid more than 1 billion USD taxes in various categories.
He added that BRI is a new channel of cooperation and a new tie for human civilization building a bridge of friendship between the people of all nations, becoming the driving force of human progress and the reason to maintain world peace.
Spokesperson also said that BRI carries a spirit humanity and was included in various United Nations document by accepting its significance towards the infrastructural development and role towards economic stabilization.
Being a 2nd largest economy of the world, China has a huge responsibility on its shoulders to play as far as new vitality for emerging and developing economies are concerned, he replied while answering another question.
He noted that more than 100 countries have agreed with Chinese initiative of development and the circle of friends have been increasing day by day.
