Rawalpindi: ( Educational Reporter  ) The 20th Anniversary of Fatima Jinnah Women University was celebrated to mark the occasion of the establishment of the university. The first women university was inaugurated on August 6th, 1998 and the classes were initiated on December 28th, 1998. A special Quran Khawani and Dua were offered for the progress of the university to reach the level of excellence.

The formal ceremony of the 20th Anniversary Day consisted on Prize Distribution of inter departmental competition, the cake cutting, lunch for employees and musical night with dinner as well.

The function started with the recitation of Holy Quran. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Samina Amin Qadir.

Keeping alive the traditions of the annual day, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Samina Amin Qadir Said Annual Day is a very special activity in the university calendar and it provides us opportunity both for looking back for self-assessment and self-renewal as looking backward is important because you learn from previous experiences. Also she hoped that FJWU, in the coming years, would progress at an even higher pace.

The audiences were also introduced to high achievers from various fields, and presented them souvenirs. The achievements of FJWU were also highlighted. A large number of faculty members and students were there to celebrate auspicious achievements.
