CHINA CULTURAL CENTER IN PAKISTAN Embassy of the People’s Republic of China (Cultural Reporter)


China Cultural Center (CCC) Pakistan in collaboration with Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) is organizing ‘‘Chinese Film Month” in continuation regarding celebration of Chinese New Year 2018 on every Friday at 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM as per following dates i.e 2nd Feb, 9th Feb, 16th Feb,
23rd Feb in the “Lecture Hall” on 1st Floor at PNCA, Islamabad.

Mr. You Yi, Cultural Counsellor of Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and Director of China Cultural Center in Pakistan will participate as a Chief Guest and inaugurate the Chinese Film Month manifestation in the presence of Dy. Director Ms. Li Shuo and others distinguished guests.

China Cultural Center is honoured to organize the Chinese Film Month first time for this year’s in Pakistan; with hopes to bring a visual feast to more Pakistani fans through a series of screening events, and to further facilitate understanding between the two cultures and a platform for Pakistani young filmmakers can face the world. China and the Pakistan have had more and more frequent film exchanges in recent years and the number of films in both countries is growing.

Chinese Film Month includes the screening of documentaries, feature movies, animated & short movies will present to film viewers. The film “Breaking the silence & Monster hunt” will display for audience on the day of opening event.


In addition of this Chinese Film Month is a part of the celebration of Chinese New Year 2018 in Pakistan which is on 16th February. It is also known as the Spring Festival in China, is an important Chinese Spring Festival celebrates at the turn of the traditional lunar calendar.  The New Year festival is centuries old and gains significance because of several myths and customs. Lunar New Year is celebrated in other Asian countries & territories, including Pakistan.

It is one of the world’s most prominent and celebrated festivals, with the “largest annual mass human migration in the world”. It is a tradition in Chinese New Year, windows and doors are decorated with red colour paper cuts and couplets with popular themes of “good fortune” or “happiness”, “wealth” and “longevity”.

China Cultural Center in Pakistan is constantly sharing traditional, cultural aspects which will brings both nation people to enlighten their friendship in a new way by seeing each other cultural and traditional things in form of Chinese film month. It will really enhance the friendship between people from Pakistan and the China. We wish that Pakistani fans will appreciate this film screening which continues to expand and make more contributions to the cultural exchanges between China and Pakistan.
